My career started in corporate retail but after 15 years, I decided to follow my passions. I went back to school at night and earned a design qualification in my 30s. In 2008, I opened my graphic and web design studio, Fine Lime Designs, and in 2010 I chucked the corporate world entirely.

Drawing and doodling has always been my first love and it was while participating in the #the100daychallenge a couple of years ago that I started doodling “Miss Doodle” – a stick figure alter ego of mine – and sharing her adventures to Instagram. People resonated with her happy, colourful life and began asking for cards and prints. She has been making people smile ever since!

By day I provide small business branding, design and business coaching at FLD Business Services, and by night I draw and paint whimsical doodles at FLD Illustrations. I’m also the co-founder of Food Bloggers of Canada – a membership organization of over 2,000 Canadian food bloggers, photographers, cookbook authors and chefs – and the host of the And She Looked Up podcast – a show for Canadian women who create for a living.
